What is Tide?
The periodic rise and fall of sea levels is caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon and the Sun. In coastal areas, tides help disperse brine discharged from desalination plants, moving the salty water back and forth along the shore.

What is Brine?
A high-concentration solution of salt (typically sodium chloride) in water. While seawater has about 3.5% salt, “brine” often refers to solutions with 5% to 26% salt content.
